Queens Park Rangers boss Ian Holloway has confirmed that defenders Nedum Onuoha and James Perch are back in training, during questioning at an official fans forum.

The pair had been sidelined for some weeks through injury, with their return to the first team set-up a huge boost to Holloway’s men ahead of a tough run of fixtures.

The R’s host in-form Aston Villa on Saturday, with Holloway knowing a win would thrust his side firmly into the playoff mix.

The Loftus Road outfit have won two of their last three fixtures to move them firmly into mid-table, but a 4-0 humbling at Nottingham Forest before the international break will have left Holloway asking questions of his side.

However the return of the defensive duo will provide the club with a boost.

“The good news is Nedum and Perchy are back out on the grass,” Holloway said.

“We’ve had a bad patch where we had loads of centre halves injured, but we’ve managed to keep going and going.”

The Verdict

QPR are rolling along quite nicely this season, and look a much better outfit than the side that almost succumbed to relegation last year.

Holloway has got his side playing some excellent football at home, although their away form will give the manager cause for concern, with the club having picked up just four points on the road this season.

Home form may be enough to keep the West Londoners up, but if a top half finish is the goal, then their away form must improve very soon.
