Leeds United lost ground on the promotion chasing pack as they fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to QPR at Loftus Road.

Luke Freeman's goal proved to be the difference on the night, and it leaves Marcelo Bielsa's side two points adrift of the Norwich who currently occupy top spot in the Championship.

His goal capped of an impressive display, and he certainly caught the eye on the night.

Former Leeds defender, Ian Harte was evidently impressed with what he witnessed from Freeman during Leeds' defeat on Tuesday evening.

Harte took to Twitter to issue his verdict on the 26-year-old's performance.

Many Leeds supporters had been left frustrated by the club's decision not to add some much-needed squad depth to their squad to help aid their promotion bid this season.

Marcelo Bielsa is likely to have been impressed with Freeman's display and could possibly feel as though the former Arsenal youngster could have played a starring role for Leeds if they had decided to make a move for him in the January transfer window.

But the Whites will be fully focused on moving on from this shock defeat as quickly as possible, and they have the perfect opportunity to send out a statement to their promotion rivals.

Bielsa's men host West Brom at Elland Road on Friday evening in front of the Sky Sports cameras and they'll be hoping they can move back into the automatic promotion places with a positive result.

The Verdict:

He was immense.

I echo Harte's comments, and agree that Freeman single-handedly took the game to Leeds on the night, and his goal proved crucial.

Leeds could have certainly benefitted from having a player of his quality in their side to fill the void left by Samuel Saiz.
