Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has told the Manchester Evening News that he feels his side are one to two transfer windows behind where they need to be.

It has already been a busy January window for the Trotters so far, with the likes of Dion Charles, Aaron Morley and Marlon Fossey all joining the club from Accrington Stanley, Rochdale and Fulham respectively.

Whilst the likes of Eoin Doyle and Antoni Sarcevic have left the club in more recent times as Bolton look to revamp their squad.

Now Evatt has claimed that the Lancashire outfit are nowhere near where they need to be with regards to recruitment, as he stated the following recently:

"We are in a transitional period and we are almost a window or two behind where we need to be."

Wanderers are also said to be targeting a new goalkeeper, midfielder and striker, with the likes of Kyle Dempsey, James Trafford and Jordan Shipley already being mentioned as potential targets.

This means that at least three more acquisitions are being targeted in total as the Trotters seek to vastly improve moving forwards.

The Verdict

Bolton have already shown that they are willing to be bold in the transfer market and the challenge will be now to complete their business before the deadline.

Given that we are closing in on the halfway point of the January window, it is fair to say that the club have done a good job to already get three deals over the line.

The players that they brought in have plenty of quality and will add some much needed depth to Evatt's squad.

It will certainly be interesting to see if they sign the three players that they want between now and when the market closes, as these things can take plenty of time depending on the nature of said deal.
