Bolton boss Ian Evatt has spoken out about more potential transfers for the club - and revealed to the Bolton News that the side could see both some more signings and some more outgoings before the window shuts.

Last season, the club were promoted back into League One and rather than spend the majority of the campaign in a relegation battle, the Wanderers instead at one point looked like they could be play-off contenders.

Eventually, the club had to settle for a top half finish but it was a solid achievement by Bolton and boss Evatt. Now, the manager has spent the summer window trying to build a squad capable of pushing on in League One.

He's already signed a total of four players this window and has done some good business, including adding Jack Iredale on a free from Cambridge United and re-signing James Trafford on a short-term deal from Man City.

Even though the club have made a handful of signings then - and sold on three players themselves - it appears as though Ian Evatt still wants signings and still wants to do business this window.

They've started the League One season well so far, with a draw against promotion favourites Ipswich and then an emphatic 3-0 win over Wycombe, who themselves were in the play-offs during the last campaign. They therefore seem to have a good first-team squad - but Evatt wants to do even more transfers this summer.

Speaking about the club and some more deals to the Bolton News, he said: "I’m happy with what we have got, but obviously there are always likely to be ins and outs towards the end of a window, and I believe there will be more with this window.

“Whether that comes to fruition, we will see, but the closed sign is not up yet. We are still very much trying to be proactive and improve where we can."

The Verdict

Bolton have a solid squad at League One level and some of the signings that they have already made have been excellent.

Jack Iredale, the former Cambridge man, is a shrewd piece of business by the side and considering they snapped him up on a free, it makes the transfer even better for the Wanderers. He's capable of scoring goals and will provide excellent depth for the club this season.

Even with the re-signing of James Trafford, it shows that the club must be a good place to be because the player has rejoined. It means that Bolton also have a really solid player inbetween the sticks too and will want to push on this campaign.

With Ian Evatt looking at even more transfers, you would have to say he is doing some excellent work with the club. His business in the transfer window so far has been superb and the fact he is continuing to look for deals means he wants to try and make Bolton's first-team squad the best they can be in the hopes of a potential promotion this League One campaign.
