Dennis Politic is set for a loan move away from the University of Bolton Stadium, with manager Ian Evatt keen for the 21-year-old to get regular game time elsewhere, he told The Bolton News.

A move to the Scottish Premier League looks the most likely, as the versatile midfielder aims to build his fitness following a long term cruciate ligament injury.

Evatt said: "Physically he is still not where I would like him to be so he needs time and minutes on the pitch.

"We have got a really competitive forward area at the moment and Dennis needs games to get himself to the fitness levels where he was prior to the injury."

This is not the end of Politic's  time with the Trotters, the academy graduate is still firmly in the future plans of Evatt but is needing to prove that he has fully recovered from his injury lay off before the Romanian can force his way back into the first team picture.

It is important to the club that Politic joins a side that operate similarly stylistically to Bolton, making Politic better prepared for a return.

Evatt continued: "We have got some options in Scotland, the SPL, and possibly around here as well so we want to aid players’ development and we will do the due diligence. This isn’t just about getting them out on loan to get them out of the way and play, it’s strategic.

"What team are they playing for, what way will they play, does it mirror what we do here, will it aid his development? It is all important."

Politic has scored five times in 30 appearances for the Trotters in the infancy of his career, with the early signs strong that he can make it in the Football League.

The Verdict

It is very smart management from the Wanderers' hierarchy to have the style of play in mind when loaning a player out, if a club has the intentions of bringing the player back into the first team after that loan spell, then it can only smoothen the process.

This is another one of the progressive tactics Evatt has instilled in just over a year at Bolton, and they are beginning to reap the rewards as contenders for this season's League One surprise package.

Hopefully if all goes according to plan, Politic is 100 per cent over the injury that saw him miss the whole of last season and he gets the opportunity to strut his stuff in the third tier later on this term.
