Reading make the long trip to Middlesbrough this weekend for their first match following the international break, looking to bounce back from the 2-0 defeat they suffered to Charlton Athletic last-time out.

Royals manager Jose Gomes though focused on his side's next outing, may have one eye on reports linking Fenerbahce with his star-striker George Pușcaș, as reported by Turkish media outlet Fanatik.

So what do you think are the chances that the Royals will hold onto Pușcaș past January?

We discuss........

Alfie Burns

“I’d expect to see him stay for the season at the Madejski Stadium, I don’t think Reading should be worried about losing him in January.

“Firstly, the club have invested a decent bit of money in getting for forward on board this season, so, in their eyes, surely they want to see how far he can take them this season.

“Secondly, why would Puscas want a move to Turkey?

“He’s young, and these kind of moves are always going to present themselves. And, whilst he’s at Reading and playing in the second-tier of England, he’s closer to the Premier League.

“If he carries on impressing this season, a top-flight move in England could be on the cards next summer. Surely that appeals more to Puscas than jumping ship now?”

Josh Cole

“When you consider just how impressive Puscas has been for Reading during the opening weeks of the season, it is imperative that they keep him at the Madejski Stadium for the foreseeable future.

“With three goals to his name already, the Romanian international could help the Royals achieve a great deal of success in the Championship providing that he can maintain his form.

“Therefore, manager Jose Manuel Gomes must resist the temptation to sell him in January if Reading do indeed receive offers from elsewhere.

“However, if a Premier League side come in for Puscas, Reading may struggle to keep hold of him as the 23-year-old will unquestionably want to test himself against the best sides in English football.”

Chris Gallagher

"Yes, I wouldn't worry if I was a Reading fan - yet.

"Puscas will want to have a full season with the Royals and he will hope to play a big part in helping them to push for the play-offs.

"The club wouldn't entertain any offers for him mid-season and it is always difficult to do deals in the winter window, so unless the Turkish giants come in with a ridiculous offer then I don't see anything happening in January.

"However, if he continues to impress, then there's no doubt that a summer move could come to fruition. He has all the tools to be a top striker and Reading might be in a position to make a significant profit on the player next year."
