Earlier this week, Neil Warnock parted company with Cardiff City by mutual consent.

The side – who were one of the favourites to return back to the Premier League and achieve automatic promotion – are currently sat in 14th place of the Championship table after his unlikely departure.

With a plethora of Championship experience, the manager has, rather naturally, had supporters debating as to whether or not they would have him at their club.

The same, it seems, can be said for Derby County fans. The Rams reporter for The Athletic Ryan Conway revealed on Twitter that he had seen and heard a fair few Derby fans considering Warnock as an option.

Their current manager is Phillip Cocu who only arrived at the club last summer to make his managerial debut in England, however the former Barcelona player has endured a tough start to life in the division, with the side languishing in the bottom half.

Derby have lost to their east Midland’s rivals Nottingham Forest twice this season already and have won just one away game since the opening day of the campaign.

All this has led to frustration with the manager who – for the most part – has received a more overwhelming amount of support.

Conway, in turn, took to Twitter to address the issue and discuss it amongst other Derby supporters.
