Football League World's Sheffield Wednesday fan pundit Thomas Fogg has expressed his delight after manager Garry Monk detailed his plans for winger Adam Reach.

Monk told the Sheffield Star this week that he plans to use the 26-year-old out wide, vowing to only use him in a more central role when absolute essential.

"As someone who has been calling for Reach to play out wide again for what feels like eternity, I was delighted to read this from Monk," the regular punter told Football League World.

"For too long now, managers have been trying to force Reach into the centre of the park and it just doesn’t suit his game.

"Reach plays his best stuff when he’s playing from wide areas as he is excellent at running with the ball and can be lethal in and around the box, cutting inside the full backs.

"Not only does playing in midfield limit his ability to do this, but playing in midfield also requires players to be involved in physical battles and, to put it nicely, tackling isn’t exactly one of his strengths."

Last season saw Reach score eight goals and rack-up seven assists under Jos Luhukay and Steve Bruce, whilst playing in a predominantly central role.

Monk's tenure at the club got off to the perfect start on Sunday as the Owls saw off Huddersfield Town 2-0 at the John Smith's Stadium.

In that match, Reach played just behind striker Steven Fletcher, a decision which prompted Monk to explain his thought process regarding the winger this season.

This weekend sees them welcome promotion hopefuls Fulham in what is sure to be a stern test.
