Wigan Athletic have strengthened their attacking options ahead of the close of the transfer window on Thursday, after announcing the signing of striker Kieffer Moore from Barnsley.

Moore scored 17 goals in 31 league appearances for Barnsley last season, helping them to win promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt, finishing as League One runners up behind Luton Town.

The striker has signed a three-year deal at the DW Stadium, and has joined for an undisclosed fee previously reported to be worth around £3million.

Following confirmation of the deal, Wigan have now made eight signings in the summer transfer window. Goalkeepers David Marshall and Daniel Gyollai, along with midfielders Jamal Lowe, Joe Willams and Lewis Macleod, and left-back Antonee Robinson have all also made permanent moves to the DW Stadium, while right-back Dujon Sterling has joined on loan from Chelsea.

Taking to Twitter to react to news of Moore's arrival, many Wigan fans appeared to be pleased with the latest addition to their squad.
