QPR's plans for next season appear to be taking shape, after the club announced that 21-year-old winger Mide Shodipo has signed a 12 month extension on his contract, keeping him at Loftus Road until the end of next season.

Shodipo has made 14 appearances for Rangers in all competitions since breaking into the club's senior side, having spent the two previous seasons on loan in League Two with Port Vale and Colchester respectively, though his opportunities were limited by a combination of injury and selection problems.

In a statement on the club's website confirming Shodipo's extension, QPR Director of Football Les Ferdinand said: "Everyone knows the talent that Mide possesses."

Having made three appearances for QPR in an injury restricted campaign in the current season, Ferdinand added: "We are all excited to see how he performs over the coming months."

Ranges have still yet to confirm a new manager following the sacking of Steve McClaren at the start of April.

Responding to the news of Shodipo's extension, the response appeared mixed amongst a number of Rangers fans.
