Aston Villa's 20-year-old attacking midfielder Callum O'Hare has been linked with a loan move away from Villa Park, with a host of clubs lining up to take him on, according to Football Insider.

Mansfield, Exeter City, Burton Albion and Bristol Rovers are all thought to be in the running for O'Hare, who has started just one game this season for Dean Smith's side.

He came off during the 3-0 FA Cup defeat against Swansea, his first appearance of the campaign. He's previously come off the bench four times for Villa, but has yet to make a significant impact for the senior squad.

With no cup matches left on the calendar, Smith is willing to allow O'Hare to leave on a temporary basis in search of regular first team football to help his development, which has caused the queue of clubs to line up.

Is this the right move by Smith? Will O'Hare benefit from such a loan. Our FLW experts discuss.

Jay Taylor

“Yes, I think this is the right move.

“He isn’t getting much game time if any at Villa Park and a loan stint away could do him a world of good in bringing him along.

“Development is important for young players and sitting on the bench, not being involved or stuck playing U23s football instead of competitive men’s football will only stunt that.

“Good move by Dean Smith and one many Villa fans will surely get behind, too.”

Alfie Burns

“If he isn’t playing at Villa then it is the right decision.

“O’Hare is at the age now where he needs to be playing and it is pointless him turning out for the under-23s week after week.

“Senior football is needed, so everyone has to back Smith here.”

George Dagless

"I think it's the right call.

"He wasn't going to be playing much and he needs minutes to improve.

"He has great potential and could be a decent player so let's hope he gets a good move and gets to play regularly."
