It's been a quite sensational campaign so far for Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

The 24-year-old has scored 25 league goals for the Bees so far this season putting him top of the Sky Bet Championship goalscorers table, and this electric form is attracting admiring glances from elsewhere.

Leeds United and Arsenal have both been credited with an interest in the former Peterborough United striker, with the Bees reportedly slapping a £30m price-tag on his head.

Thomas Frank's Brentford side find themselves in the thick of a promotion battle in the second tier, and know that if they don't achieve promotion, they could struggle to keep some of their most prized assets when the summer transfer window opens.

So, with this in mind, do you think it's inevitable Ivan Toney will leave Brentford if they don't go up this summer as Leeds/Arsenal circle?

The team here at FLW discuss....

It does seem that whatever happens with Brentford this season, Toney is destined for the Premier League with him having enjoyed one of the best individual campaigns of any forward in the division’s history. The 24-year-old has attracted the attentions of numerous clubs and the Bees know they are in for a battle to keep him.

Toney will be eager to get himself into the Premier League and prove his worth at that level, with him having been let go by Newcastle United earlier in his career. He deserves that chance now having performed excellently for Peterborough United and then now for Brentford this term.

Brentford would probably expect to get at least one more season out of him if they do go up, but the pulling power of the likes of Arsenal and Leeds United would be difficult for him to turn down if they do not go up this term.

The Bees will at least be in line to make a large profit on him if they were to have to sell. That would go some way to compensating them for missing out on the riches that promotion to the Premier League would bring.

I think it probably is, given his performances this season.

There are plenty of teams in the Premier League who are reliant on one single striker at this moment in time, something they will no doubt want to change, with Toney's record this season making him a really attractive option for those clubs.

Indeed, given the financial muscle those top-flight sides have, you do feel they would be able to afford Toney, and as we have seen in the past, Brentford are a side who will sell, something they may need to do if they do not get the windfall of promotion, following a season with next to no revenue from crowds.

You also feel as though the opportunity to play in the top-flight of English football is one that Toney will to take as soon as possible having been made to wait for it following his frustrating time with Newcastle, meaning if Brentford cannot offer it him this summer, it could be hard for them to keep hold of him against the interest of a side who could.

Yes, I really do!

Ivan Toney may be in his first season in the Championship but he's already proven that he's head and shoulders above the rest in the division.

Plenty of clubs in the Premier League will be looking to the second tier for reinforcements this summer and there's no doubt that Toney will be at the top of that list.

Of course if Brentford go up then he's likely to stay put, but if they don't there's no doubt that clubs will come knocking.

Whether it'll include the likes of Arsenal remains to be seen, but there's no doubt that at least 12 of the 20 will be very interested in making a move.
