A few years ago, Sean Clare was a name that Sheffield Wednesday fans could get excited about.

Coming through their youth ranks, he looked set to be a top player for the Owls.

But over the last few seasons, it has become clear that that may not be the case anymore, with the 21-year-old spending the last three campaigns on loan at Bury, Accrington Stanley and Gillingham.

The youngster has not appeared keen on signing a new deal, and with his current deal now expired club's have already been sniffing around the attacker.

However, there were glimpses of the quality of player he could go on to be during his time at Priestfield, which could possibly persuade manager Jos Luhakay to give him a go.

Does Clare have a future at Hillsborough? We discuss...

I’m really torn. For me, the best place for his development is still Hillsborough, but I can see him making a move.

The midfielder has talent, but I’m not sure he needs to be doing what he’s doing this summer.

George Dagless

I think he's leaving the Owls.

The midfielder is clearly sandbagging at the moment and I think if he'd wanted to stay he'd have sorted that out by now.
If no-one comes in for him, though, he could find it hard to win some Owls fans back over.
Gary Hutchinson
Yes, I can. Wednesday are a huge club, arguably one of the biggest in the Championship and that will be a factor.
I suppose much depends on who else is in the hunt and whether the Owls fancy a few quid like their Steel City rivals have got.
Chris Gallagher
Unfortunately for Wednesday fans, no.
It's going to be a major blow for them losing another academy product who has great potential but the fact nothing has been signed by now suggests he will move on.
Whether it's the right decision is debatable as Clare probably would've got game time under Jos Luhukay next season.
Jay Williams
I think that he would have signed a new contract by now if he really wanted to stay.
It seems his head has been turned by other options - which is a shame because he could have stepped up and played a bigger role for the Owls next season. But if he wants out, there is not much that Sheffield Wednesday can do now, other than try to receive as big a compensation fee as possible.

Sam Rourke

I still get the feeling Clare will be moved on this summer.
He's a talented midfielder with a lot of potential, but you just get the feeling Luhukay is going to wield the axe.
There will be a rush for his signature, no doubt about it.
Adam Wilmott
No.
The Owls need to cut down on their bloated squad size, it is likely Clare will be on his way out of Hillsborough this summer.
