Hal Robson-Kanu is about to embark on a Championship season for the first time since 2016.

That was the year when a single goal, scored against Belgium in Euro 2016, changed his world.

With just 24 league goals in 198 Reading appearances, one moment of brilliance eradicated seasons of underachieving and put his name up in lights.

Premier League West Brom took a chance, but his dismal scoring record has continued with just five in two full seasons at the Hawthorns.

He's now back in the second tier, but could he flourish in the Championship for the Baggies?

The FLW team discuss.....

Louie Chandler

I think he could do well.

It was clear that he was never good enough for the Premier League, but the Championship could be his level.

I very much doubt he will be their star man, but he could definitely have a positive impact.

Chris Gallagher

Not at all.

I couldn't believe he got a move to the Premier League when he did, it was solely on his performances for Wales.

He has never been a top Championship player and I think Albion will start the season with better options which means he will be on the bench.

Jay Williams

This is a great opportunity for Robson-Kanu to fire the Baggies back to promotion.

West Brom are at risk of losing Salomon Rondon and Jay Rodriguez, meaning that the Wales international could play the starring role in the promotion push.

He can be a good player when he puts his mind to it but his inconsistency might worry Darren Moore and a new striker will probably be brought in.

Alfie Burns

He could have a big impact, yes.

Robson-Kanu hasn’t ever fully impressed me, but in the Championship, he could thrive.

If he does, he could be key for West Brom.
