Former Sunderland manager Jack Ross has been appointed as the new manager of Scottish Premier League club Hibernian.

Jack Ross departed the Stadium of Light just over a month ago after a disappointing start to the season, following dramatic play-off final heartbreak last campaign at the hands of Charlton Athletic.

Ross arrived at Sunderland in a period where the Black Cats were on a downward spiral, having suffered back-to-back relegations from the Premier League down to the third-tier.

He almost got his Sunderland side straight back to the Championship at the first time of asking when they reached the play-off final, however, the Black Cats squandered a 1-0 lead to lose in injury time to Lee Bowyer’s Charlton. Since then the club hasn’t really bounced back from this defeat and performances have suffered because of it.

The side was stagnating under Ross with the club seemingly so close to at least the play-off picture but never building any momentum. This led to the manager’s dismissal to make way for the newly appointed Phil Parkinson. In that time, results and performances haven’t greatly improved by any means.

Ross has only spent a month out of management, however, as Hibernian have appointed him as their new manager, to take over from former Leeds and Barnsley boss, Paul Heckingbottom

With the news breaking of Ross swiftly back in management, we take a look at how Sunderland fans have reacted to the news…
