West Brom manager Slaven Bilic has added to his squad with the signature of West Ham midfielder Grady Diangana on a season-long-loan, it has been confirmed on the club website.

The Baggies saw off interest from a host of clubs, most notably Derby County, to sign Diangana, who made 21 appearances for the Hammers last season, scoring twice on his debut.

So will Diangana be a good addition at the Hawthorns and will be feature much for the first team?

We discuss.........

Sam Rourke

"I really like this signing.

"Bilic knows all about this player and I see the Hawthorns as being the perfect platform for him to show off what he's all about.

"Diangana has shown in flashes what he can do at the London Stadium, with his impressive dribbling ability and eye for a pass, two standout components in his game.

"What I like about the player is his energy, he is constantly on the move, trying to find optimum positions in attacking areas, so I can see him fitting into what is now a very attack-minded Baggies team.

"He could be one of the standout players this season in the EFL, if on song."

Josh Cole

“Signing Diangana from West Ham United may end up being a real coup by West Bromwich Albion manager Slaven Bilic.

“Although the winger has yet to leave his mark in the Premier League for the Hammers, he did manage to demonstrate his wide array of skills in the Carabao Cup last season against lower league opposition in the form of Macclesfield, firing in a brace in a 8-0 victory at the London Stadium.

“Whereas the Championship will unquestionably be a tough nut to crack for Diangana, there is no reason why cannot end up thriving at this level of football providing under Bilic whose man-management skills have helped nurture the talents of Luka Modric and Dimitri Payet in the past.

“However, in order for the 21-year-old to have the best chance of achieving a successful loan spell at the Hawthorns, he must first have to usurp the likes of Matt Phillips and Kyle Edwards in the pecking order with Matheus Pereira also expected to be in contention for a starting role for the Baggies.”

Ned Holmes

“Yes, the signing of Diangana adds quality to the side.

“An electric winger, he looked exciting coming off the bench in the Premier League last season and could benefit from taking the step down into the Championship.

“Bilic knows the player from his time at West Ham, which makes me think that he thinks particularly highly of the winger and has a particular plan set out for him this season.

“Diangana will have to take his opportunities though, as the Baggies brought in two other wingers on deadline day, Chris Willock and Matheus Pereira.

“I’m not sure this is the best move for the player. The 21-year-old needed to go somewhere that he was guaranteed regular game time but with the depth West Brom now have out wide I’m not sure he will have that at the Hawthorns."
