Wigan Athletic are currently scrapping for their lives near the bottom of the Championship table, with Paul Cook's men looking to secure a third consecutive season in the Championship.

The previous decade for the Latics has seen a total of three relegations and two promotions as they have fallen from the Premier League all the way down into League One in recent years.

Since the 2015-2016 season, Wigan have somewhat yo-yoed between the second and third-tier but with Latics only sitting three points from safety, it is more than possible for them to retain their Championship status for another season.

Despite spending the last few seasons in the second and third-tier, the Latics have a recent FA Cup history they can be proud of.

Famously beating Manchester City 1-0 in the 2013 final, the Latics stunned City once again back in 2018, when they were in League One.

Will Grigg scored the only goal of the night at the DW Stadium when Paul Cook's side knocked Pep Guardiola's men out at the fourth round stage.

Today is the second anniversary of Wigan's second recent FA Cup scalp with City, and their official Twitter account reminded everyone of what happened two years ago.

Latics were fans were quick to respond to this latest Tweet with one fan even pointing out how it never gets old watching that goal.
