‘I hope so’ – Many West Brom fans engage in debate as player deal stalls

Many West Bromwich Albion fans have discussed the future of Matheus Pereira, who is expected to make his loan deal at the club into a permanent one this summer.
The Brazilian playmaker has had a superb season at the Hawthorns, arguably being the club’s best performer and most consistent.
16 assists over the course of the Championship season so far have made Pereira a superb asset for Slaven Bilic, who has masterminded West brom to sit second in the league table at present.
Has Matheus Pereira done these 12 things at West Brom? Have a go now!
Having signed on a one-year loan from Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon, the midfielder’s deal also included the option to make the move permanent should the Baggies gain promotion or a certain amount of games played was met.
Having played 33 league games this term, Albion are expected to pay €10m to make the move permanent, a deal that would be most welcome ahead of what looks increasingly likely to be a Premier League campaign next term.
Despite Albion’s obvious desire to bring Pereira in on a full-time contract, Portuguese press O Jogo, via Sport Witness, have claimed that the English club have asked Sporting officials to stall on proceedings due to the recent pandemic.
Reacting to a question posed by Football League World’s Ben Crump via ‘boing boing baggies‘, which read: “Do you think we will still sign Pereira, I am confused on the issue?” – West Brom fans gave their opinion on Pereira’s future.
Gary Botfield: He’s an Albion player, believe me I know
Daniel Groves: I hope so, he is rather skilled
Alexandra Marie Tomlinson Richards: Hope he does TBH
WBA Baggy: I believe nothing until I see it, so much different stuff been said at WBA about football
Justin Pearce: Yeah he’ll sign I think
Paul McCabe: Already done deal no worries
Paul WBAFC Birch: All I’m concerned about is, if we are getting promoted ladies and gentlemen
Matty Callie: Have some faith in the club, they have earned it this season
Roy Doran: 100% right my friend, he will be playing for us net season no matter which division we are in. Come on you Baggies, Boing Boing!
Martyn Page: Yes, there are will we play on this season, if we don’t it’s not fair on Liverpool, and who will go in the Champions League, plus the FA Cup is that going to be abandoned too. The worst thing is we may not go up, if it last until July.
