West Brom are on the hunt for a permanent manager ahead of next year's campaign, as they look to plan for another promotion bid.

Danny Cowley was thought to be one of the frontrunners to take charge of the Baggies, although Lincoln have since stated that no approach has been made for their manager.

In an interview with the Express and Star, former Leicester boss, Nigel Pearson has expressed his interest in the managerial vacancy at The Hawthorns.

"Is it a job which I would be interested in? Of course it would be. It's a club with stature and it’s a very attractive proposition. But ultimately it's down to what direction the club want to go in."

Pearson has been out of work since he was sacked as manager of OH Leuven earlier this year, but he's seemingly keen to get back into management at the earliest of opportunities.

But would Pearson be a good appointment by West Brom?

We discuss....

Gary Hutchinson:

"I think Pearson did a great job with Leicester first time round, as he set the scene for their title win.

"That doesn't qualify him for the West Brom role though, and his tough-talking ways are not what the club need.

"I still don't think there's anyone better for the job than Lee Bowyer.

"His work at Charlton is wildly underrated."

Jacob Potter:

"He’s exactly the type of manager they need next season.

"West Brom need a manager that is going to fire up a group of players that will surely still be thinking about their play-off semi-final defeat to Aston Villa.

"The quality is there in the squad, they just need a manager that can guide them back into the top-flight and Pearson is certainly capable of doing that."

Ben Lang:

"I have my reservations.

"Pearson did a solid job with Leicester in the Championship, but I don't think he would be a very progressive choice.

"West Brom need a manager who can implement a forward-thinking vision and I think Pearson represents more of a short-term measure."
