Leeds United are set to revive their interest in Carpi striker Jerry Mbakogu, according to the Daily Mail.

The powerful forward has scored six goals for the Serie B side this season, and it seems the Whites want to add the 25-year-old to the team in the summer.

Would he be a good signing for Leeds?

We discuss....

Adam Simeoni

The striker is held in extremely high regard by his current side Carpi, who fought hard to keep the player amidst January interest.

However the striker hasn't particularly set the world on fire in Serie B, so could he do it in the higher quality English second tier?

I have my doubts about this.

Sam Preston

It would be another risk.

He is not an overly prolific striker and it would remain to be seen how well he would adapt to life in English football.

The fact that Leeds have been in for him under both Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom indicates that he is a "club" target and not one of any particular manager.

That always worries me as well, because the manager should have the biggest say in recruitment.

George Dagless

I'm unsure.

He looks a decent player that can lead the line but is he proven in this country and in the Championship?

Leeds have cried out for more experience this season but it looks as though they're not going to address it.

Alfie Burns

Radrizzani has spoken about Leeds looking to the English market more next summer, which I hope they do.

Too many foreign arrivals have cost Leeds this season, and for that reason, I’d be leaving Mbakogu alone.

Leeds need to be taking a good look around the domestic market.
