Nottingham Forest may look to offload striker Karim Ansarifard in the summer with Greek side Aris Thessaloniki keen on doing a deal for the striker.

The Iran international has proven himself to be a very good player in Greece over the years with Olympiacos, however things haven't really worked out for him at the City Ground.

He has made just nine league appearances since arriving in November, scoring just the one goal.

Boss Martin O'Neill has favoured experienced target man Daryl Murphy over Ansarifard recently, and he would surely drop further down the pecking order when Lewis Grabban returns from injury as well.

Therefore, it's no surprise to see that Greek media outlet SDNA are reporting that he could make a return to the country by joining Aris Thessaloniki.

But, would that be the right move from Forest or should he have a future in the East Midlands?

Here our writers take a look...

George Harbey

"He should have a future, but I don’t think he will have one at Forest.

"O’Neill seems set on starting Murphy every week, and Lewis Grabban is still yet to return from a spell on the sidelines with injury.

"I feel sorry for him, but perhaps a move away is the best option for him."

Alfie Burns

"He’s not had a fair chance, for me.

"When we’ve seen him he’s looked okay, but he has been overlooked too often.

"There should be more of a chance heading the forward’s way in the next eight games, but unless things change, this is only heading one way."

Chris Gallagher

"I think a move suits all parties.

"Ansarifard clearly has certain qualities but he looked out his depth when he started against Villa recently.

"Obviously, it's harsh to judge him on one start but the fact O'Neill also prefers Murphy speaks volumes. He should move on."
