Sunderland have confirmed the permanent signing of 25-year-old midfielder Max Power on their Club Website.

Power initially joined Sunderland on loan in August and has gone on to make 22 appearances for the club this season in all competitions.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who began his career with Tranmere Rovers, has now agreed a deal to join Sunderland on a permanent basis until the summer of 2021.

So is the permanent signing of Power good news for the Black Cats?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

Great news.

Power proved last season with Wigan how good he could be in the third tier and will no doubt prove a crucial weapon for the Black Cats as well.

The battle for automatic promotion is hotting up in League One and this could give them a crucial edge.

George Dagless

Definitely.

It was expected but Sunderland fans will be happy it has happened nevertheless.

He's the sort of player they need and I expect him to bring success to the club.

Gary Hutchinson

Great news for Sunderland.

Forget the whole red card thing, Power is class and has been exciting for the Black Cats when he’s played.

He’s Championship quality and will now be able to settle and look to the future.

Great move all round.

Alfie Burns

Absolutely, it’s great for the club to get it over the line.

It always seemed likely, but there’ve been no hiccups with it, which will delight the board at Sunderland.

Now, Power needs to get his head down and build on a good start to life in red and white.
