After a promising start to the season, Sheffield Wednesday have fallen away as the half-way point approaches and currently find themselves down in 17th place, ahead of the trip to Swansea City at the weekend.

Against this back-drop, the Owls midfielder has come out and suggested that their goalkeeper Cameron Dawson has been their Player of the Season so far, as reported in the Sheffield Star.

But is Dawson really the Owls' POTS?

We discuss.....

Alfie Burns

It’s a bit OTT from Reach, who has probably been the best player at Hillsborough.

The young goalkeeper is probably short on confidence and this statement will help pick him up after another tough week.

I doubt Reach truly means what he’s said.

Gary Hutchinson

Possibly, it’s hard to say.

Sheff Weds haven’t played well enough for anyone to truly stand out.

Would it be enough to say he’s been amongst the best of a bad bunch?

Picking a POTS is hard at Hillsborough.

Jay Taylor

He’s done pretty well, but I wouldn’t say he has been their player of the season.

A string of good saves or a couple of solid performances doesn’t warrant that accolade.

There have been better performers than Cameron Dawson this season, albeit the campaign is taking a negative turn.

Players like Barry Bannan and Adam Reach have been solid this term – but then again, Reach can’t really say himself, can he?

George Harbey

I think I’d make a case for Reach himself to be honest.

Dawson has been ok - he’s been brilliant in some games but has looked shaky in others.

Reach has scored some fantastic goals and is at the heart of Wednesday’s attacks, I think he deserves the accolade right now.
