It has been a mixed bag for Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka over the festive period, with two defeats and a draw that culminated with a 4-2 win over table-toppers Leeds United on New Years Day.

With Forest entering 2019 in seventh place in the Championship, Karanka will be reviewing his inflated squad to establish where he needs to recruit in the January transfer window.

A target on Karanka's radar is former player Oliver Burke who is currently out-of-favour at Championship rivals West Brom, having left the City Ground in 2016 for Leipzig, in a £13m deal as reported in the Nottingham Post.

So would Burke be a good signing for Forest?

We discuss.....

George Dagless

Potentially.

I like Burke and think he could still be a good player but he needs confidence.

He was obviously good for the Reds but that is no guarantee of more success.

Gary Hutchinson

Good signing for anyone that plays him, but will that be Forest?

Karanka is stumbling through the season, trying different things but never sticking to a plan.

I can’t see it being the settled environment that Burke so desperately needs.

Sam Rourke

I don't think this is a good idea.

Burke undoubtedly has bundles of ability and talent, but Forest have an inflated squad as it is, and there is no guarantee he'd be a regular starter.

Burke ultimately needs to find a club where he is going to be playing week in, week out - And he'd probably be unlikely to get it at the Reds.
