‘I don’t think I hate a player more’ – Leeds United fans furious as controversial defender returns

The 2017/18 campaign will mark yet another new era at Leeds United, with Andrea Radrizzani in place as the club’s new owner and Thomas Christiansen taking over as head-coach at Elland Road.

The new regime, unlike the ones before, has a platform to work from, with Leeds entering the 2017/18 season on the back of a successful Championship term, which saw the club finish seventh.

Garry Monk was the man who guided Leeds to the brink of the play-offs last season, and the 38-year old helped to bring positivity to Elland Road, as well as putting a competitive squad in place.

Vast changes were made to Leeds’ squad last summer, most notably in defence, where Pontus Jansson and Kyle Bartley were brought in to replace Sol Bamba and Giuseppe Bellusci.

Jansson and Bartley established themselves as favourites with the club’s supporters, and the memory of Bamba, and particularly Bellusci, was firmly in the past.

However, yesterday saw Leeds take part in their first pre-season game under Christiansen, with Bellusci back in the team after returning from a loan spell with Empoli.

It is still likely Bellusci will leave Elland Road this summer, with the club open to offers for the defender, but here is how Leeds’ supporters reacted to seeing the Italian back in the side…

Leeds fans… Are you hoping Bellusci leaves this summer? Let us know your thoughts!
