Nottingham Forest missed out on the signing of West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki in the summer transfer window, after the paperwork for the deal failed to be completed in time.

The Reds subsequently were rejected in an arbitration hearing after and he remains a Baggies player.

Now, it appears that Forest's Championship rivals Middlesbrough are plotting a move for the 32-year-old winger as the January transfer window approaches, as per the print edition of The Sunday Mirror (1/11/20, Page 65).

So, with this in mind, should Chris Hughton's side look to renew their interest in the Polish international in January or leave it?

It’s hard to say, but right now, I don’t think he’s worth it.

Grosicki has been a quality player at this level before for Hull City, and it’s clear to see what he’d add to this current Forest squad - pace, skill, creativity and quality in front of goal.

But he’s 32 years of age now, and I think Forest have to keep thinking about the future. They have a going player in Alex Mighten who has huge potential and could be a really talented player in the future, so why not invest time in him?

Of course, if Forest continue to struggle and they are in need of that boost, then by all means go back in for Grosicki, as right now, he could give them that pace and creative spark with goals clearly a problem.

But right now, I’d say leave it.

I think it might be worthwhile.

Chris Hughton didn't exactly get long to bring in players that he wanted to sign but it seemed clear that Grosicki was one of them.

The Polish winger still has plenty to offer at this level and if West Brom still want rid of him I think it would make sense to reignite their interest.

He is a good player with good attacking attributes and Hughton evidently likes him so it would make sense to try and get this one done as he looks to put together a side he thinks can challenge.

Forest unfortunately missed out on the Pole's signature in the recent window, but there's a reason they were interested in the first place and should make him their priority in January.

Grosicki himself appeared keen on the City Ground switch and Boro's interest shouldn't bother them too much in truth, despite 16 places separating the sides in the Championship table.

The only down-side for Forest is that by the time the window re-opens, it will be almost six months since the Pole was playing regularly, having featured just once for West Brom this term - in the EFL Cup game against Harrogate.
