Following back-to-back relegations, Sunderland are looking to bounce straight back into the Championship and have made a good start to life in League One under Jack Ross.

The form of 19-year-old forward Josh Maja has been a major contributing factor chipping in with nine goals already in 12 appearances for the Black Cats.

But will Maja's form mean clubs will be sniffing around the player come the January transfer window?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

Without a doubt, they will be.

The 19-year-old has nine goals in 12 League One appearances and is on fire at the moment.

There will be sides in the Championship and possibly the Premier League that will look at his age, talent and scoring ability and think he would be perfect for them.

Especially the sides who are not scoring enough goals they will be thinking about making a move.

A player who scores goals at any level consistently is a target and Maja is making himself just that.

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, but I don’t think he’ll go.

Sunderland are building something and when May comes I think they’ll be top two.

I strongly suspect Maja is there for the long haul.

George Dagless

Yes.

Sunderland obviously want to keep him and are looking to do that but his start suggests he's ready to go back up a league for sure.

If a big offer comes in for such a talented player the Black Cats are going to have to resist hard.

Jacob Potter

He’s shown excellent form already this season with nine goals to his name this season and I do think there will be some top end Championship sides sniffing around for his signature.

At the age of just 19 as well, he has the potential to be playing at a much higher level than League 1.
