Aston Villa starlet Jack Grealish has told the club's website how striker Christian Benteke was the best player he has played alongside, and how he sees similarities in current loan star Tammy Abraham.

"His feet were unbelievable. He was technically gifted for a big guy. I think he’s quite similar to Tammy Abraham in that respect." Grealish said.

So how do Abraham and Benteke compare? Is Grealish right in his verdict?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

That is doing a dis-service to Tammy Abraham? He is more agile and a more complete striker than Christian Benteke.

The former Villa striker was a mammoth in both boxes but restricted the way the side used to play.

Abraham has the pace and the trickery that Benteke only has in his head, with his aerial prowess.

Grealish might mean well but it isn’t the best comparison that he could have thought of.

Gary Hutchinson

Benteke was only a hit for a couple of seasons so I wouldn’t take it as a compliment!

I think they’re very different.

I do like Abraham, but he’s got more finesse about him than Benteke.

He’s got the potential to achieve much more too.

George Harbey

Abraham is a fantastic goalscorer at this level and when the goals come, he could turn Villa’s fortunes around.

Comparing him to Benteke at this stage though, I’m not so sure...

George Dagless

I don't really see it.

Benteke was unplayable at Villa at times and Abraham could be too but they are different sorts of players.

Benteke smashed players out of the way, Abraham uses his pace to burn past defenders.

Jacob Potter

You can see some similarities in the way they play.

Benteke is known for being a big powerful striker who is excellent in the air. Abraham is somewhat a “raw version” of Benteke I feel as he is still a young striker at the age of just 21.

But you feel they do have different qualities with Abraham certainly being the quicker of the two, but given a good amount of game time on a regular basis, there’s no reason we couldn’t see Abraham having a successful time at Villa, just like Benteke did.
