Martin O'Neill has made his first signing as Nottingham Forest manager, with the club confirming the capture of Leicester City defender Yohan Benalouane on an 18-month contract.

The 31-year-old is a vastly experienced centre-half who has amassed over 120 career appearances, but fell massively out of favour with the Foxes during the latter stages of his time at the King Power Stadium.

The Tunisian international hadn't featured for Claude Puel's men since the start of May, and made just twelve league starts during his time with the club, where he was part of the team that lifted the Premier League title back in 2016/17.

Forest have looked vulnerable in defence at times this season, and have also looked short in that department, with natural left-back Jack Robinson having to feature there on more than one occasion this term.
