Barnsley have recently released a statement on the off-the-field developments involving their former manager Daniel Stendel.

They claim that they are still in talks with Scottish side Hearts over compensation for Stendel, who is believed to still be on Barnsley's payroll.

Stendel was appointed as Hearts' new manager earlier this month, which has prompted the Tykes to release a statement to provide supporters with an update.

He guided Barnsley to promotion into the Championship last season, but only won one league game in charge of the club this term, which came against Fulham on the opening day of this year's campaign.

Barnsley also claim that Stendel entered negotiations with another Championship club after winning promotion with the Tykes, which the club claim is a violation of his contract, with the 45-year-old not talking to Barnsley's senior officials over the matter.

Plenty of Barnsley supporters took to social media to issue their thoughts on this recent development.
