Middlesbrough prepare for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night with manager Tony Pulis keen that his side bounce back and maintain pressure on the Championship's top three.

Pulis, 60, needs to decide whether to recall 25-year-old striker Britt Assombalonga to the starting 11 for this match having left the Congolese international on the bench for the last two Boro matches.

But should Boro's current top goal-scorer start against the Owls on Friday?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

Absolutely.

Assombalonga has only made a substitute's appearance in Middlesbrough’s last two league matches and will be hoping for more regular game time.

Jordan Hugill has been occupying the striker spot in recent weeks but is still yet to score this season.

Assombalonga is the club’s top goalscorer this season and Tony Pulis will seriously be considering recalling the striker to the starting XI, as his side look to get back on track in their promotion bid this season.

Gary Hutchinson

I think so.

I think he’s the best centre-forward they have at Boro.

I can’t understand why he wouldn’t play, he’s quick and a real handful.

Jay Taylor

Considering Britt Assombalonga is probably Middlesbrough’s most clinical striker, you would expect him to.

Jordan Hugill started last time out in the 2-0 reverse to Nottingham Forest and having not taken his chance, Assombalonga should come back into the side.

When the former Forest striker has started, he has done well and so have Boro.

I would expect Tony Pulis to revert back to having Assombalonga up top on Friday evening.
