Brentford’s midfield maestro is being linked with a move away from the club, with Middlesbrough keeping an eye on the Spaniard.
TEAMTalk are reporting that the former Liverpool youngster is high on the shopping list at the Riverside, with manager Tony Pulis looking to bring the Bee’s star to the northeast.
The 21-year-old has had three successful seasons in west London and was an integral part of the Brentford side last term that pushed valiantly for a play-off spot.
Canos managed six goals in 34 matches, registering two assists as Dean Smith’s side finished six points outside the play-off places in ninth.
Pulis could be looking out for a winger to replaces Adama Traore’s after Wolves had a bid rejected for the star winger and have shown intense interest this summer.
Canos would be a direct replacement should the former Barcelona man depart for the Premier League.
Will the Bee’s man move to Middlesbrough, and if he does, will it be a good signing for Boro?
We discuss…
George Dagless
I like the look of this.
Boro need some more guile in the final third and Canos will certainly provide that.
He's a player of quality and Boro would do well to get him.
Jay Williams
Canos has such natural skill and flair, and he would be an excellent acquisition for Middlesbrough.
And unlike Matt Phillips and Albert Adomah, he is still young and has scope to improve.
If Boro could prise him away from Brentford, it would be a statement of intent ahead of the new season.
Gary Hutchinson
I can see why, they need some pace out wide, especially if Traore leaves the club.
Canos is young, energetic and has lots of regular football behind him already.
I’d say this is a good move
Chris Gallagher
A decent signing.
If they have to sell Traore, then Canos would be a good replacement.
He's not as good as the Spaniard but has real pace, likes to run at defenders but needs to improve his final ball.
Alfie Burns
He’d be a good addition to Boro’s squad, but not as a starter.
Canos has never really impressed me much in the Championship, and I can’t see Pulis getting the best out of him.
