Nottingham Forest are on a run of unbeaten in eight outings in all competitions, results that leave them 10th in the Championship and into the third round of the Carabao Cup, with the latest result a 1-0 win over league leaders Swansea City.

The latest win came despite the loss of summer signing Carl Jenkinson in the lead up to the match, after he suffered an ankle injury that looks like it will sideline him for a number of weeks, as reported on Nottinghamshire Live.

So how big a blow will the loss of Jenkinson be to Forest?

We discuss...

Louie Chandler

"It is disappointing but I can't see it harming them too badly.

"He is yet to make an impact on the pitch since making the move from Arsenal in the summer so I cannot see a month's absence damaging the Reds too much.

"Matty Cash has been excellent in that role so far this season by all accounts and do not suspect he will have been likely to lose his place any time soon.

"The blow will come when either Cash or one of the Forest winger's picks up an injury and the squad becomes stretched."

Dean Cooke

"After a very good start for Forest, it's a big blow, he has been part of Sabri Lamouchi's first-team side that' looking to push up the table and make a real go at it this season.

"Jenkinson has been looking for a club that he can play regularly for and now he's finally found that it is so unfortunate that ha suffered an injury.

"Forest will be hoping it doesn't affect their brilliant defensive resolve that they've been showing."

George Harbey

“It’s a big blow for Forest to have Jenkinson on the sidelines for a month, but they can cope with his absence.

“Jenkinson hasn’t had the chance to show Forest fans what he is all about since making the move from Arsenal, but he has looked solid in the games that he’s played in..

“But Matty Cash has been excellent since moving to right-back this season, and is getting better game by game in a position that was unknown to him at the start of the campaign.

“Of course, if Cash gets injured, then they have no other options for that position, but they should manage just fine in my opinion.”
