The final matches of the Championship season remain to be played but that has not stopped the summer transfer speculation starting in earnest as players and clubs alike start to draw up their plans.

Rotherham United defender Semi Ajayi will ask to leave the club following their relegation to the English third tier, according to Sports247, after a season that has seen him score eight goals in 47 appearances in all competitions for the Millers.

Norwich City look in pole position to sign the 25-year-old, so how should Canaries fans be feeling about the signing? Would he get in their starting XI?

We discuss........

Gary Hutchinson

“I’m not so sure he would.

“It’s tough to call because why would they break up their XI right now?

“They’re going to win the Championship.

“For my money, that means nobody would get into the starting XI at the moment.”

George Brooks

"I think a lot of it will depend on what signings Farke makes in the summer, as he will be looking to considerably strengthen his squad for the Premier League.

"Ajayi is a good player, he has done well for Rotherham this season and would be a good signing for Norwich.

"He is a versatile player and can play at centre-back or in central midfield. It remains to be seen whether he is good enough to get into the Canaries' starting XI though."

Toby Wilding

"I can't see him starting for the Canaries.

"As impressive as Ajayi has been recently, it is a big step to go from fighting a (losing) Championship relegation battle to competing in the Premier League.

"You also feel Farke will want to reward some of those who have got them to the Premier League by giving them a chance in the top tier, though that doesn't mean Ajayi's opportunity won't come."

Louie Chandler

"Definitely not straight away.

"Norwich have been terrific all season so there is no one you would choose to drop from the current starting XI.

"Ajayi has proven to be an exciting, versatile talent, however, so you can not rule out it happening at some point."
