‘I can’t see him putting a Leeds shirt on again’ – £1.35m-rated star at Leeds United: The verdict

Published

on

After an underwhelming previous season for Leeds United’s Hadi Sacko, his future at Elland Road is somewhat up in the air.

While a new boss can mean a fresh start, with the sheer amount of midfield options at United’s new boss Marcelo Bielsa’s disposal, it might be the end for Sacko for the Lilywhites all together.

With arrivals seemingly imminent, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the 24-year-old as one of the players who they decide to sell to make way for the fresh meat.

£1.35m-rated Sacko made 14 league appearances for Leeds United last season, but 13 of those were off the bench, and failed to register a goal throughout the entire Championship season.

While it wouldn’t surprise anybody to see the Mali international dropped from the squad all together, perhaps preseason is the time for Sacko to prove his worth to the new head coach.

Either way, we discuss the future of Hadi Sacko for Leeds United, and whether he will be there at all at the start of the new season.

Jay Williams

Yes, he has to go now – If i’m honest, I can’t see him putting a Leeds shirt on again.

Bielsa is overloaded with talent in the attacking midfield regions with the likes of Samu Saiz, Ezgjan Alioski, Kemar Roofe, Stuart Dallas and Pablo Hernandez among the players vying for starts.

Sacko’s future lies away from Elland Road; his departure is the best solution for all parties.

Gary Hutchinson

Not inevitable, although many of Leeds flops from last season seem destined to play elsewhere.

I would expect Sacko to be one who leaves, but nothing is inevitable in football.

Jay Taylor

I think so, he failed to make an impact in his 18 appearances last season, scoring one goal.

The season before that was two goals in 42 games.

And even when he played it was mainly coming off the bench to be an impact player but never was.

It could well be time for Leeds to get rid and work with players who are going to be more of a focal point ahead of the new season.
