Rangers will be looking to have a strong transfer window as Steven Gerrard enters his first job as a manager of a senior side.

Certainly, he'll want to shape the squad as much as he can with the likes of the Sheffield Star referring to the fact that Jordan Rhodes is apparently a target.

Would he be a good signing for the Gers? We take a look...

Alfie Burns

Rhodes desperately needs a move away from Sheffield Wednesday and probably the Championship.

I can see him thriving at Rangers, where I’m sure he would rediscover his goalscoring touch.

Jay Williams

This move suits all parties.

Sheffield Wednesday want to ship a few fringe players to generate funds for new additions and Rhodes simply has not lived up to expectations at Hillsborough.

But he would definitely be a major goal threat in the Scottish Premiership and Rangers would benefit from having the natural goal scorer in their ranks.

The chance to play for a massive club under Steven Gerrard would surely tempt Rhodes, too, who could reignite his stalling career if he catches the eye with a number of goals next season.

Chris Gallagher

I think it would be a great move for all parties.

Rhodes is finished at Sheffield Wednesday and has been an awful signing but he could still score goals for Rangers.

He is a penalty-box striker and he would get plenty of chances playing for the Glasgow giants considering they dominate the majority of domestic games.

Ben Barkworth

Rhodes would be a risky move for Rangers because he hasn't played well in the last few seasons.

He is talented, but the risk of the transfer is dependent on how much they would have to pay for him.
