Leeds United currently sit in third place with 32 matches played this season heading into this weekend's clash with Bolton Wanderers.

But they remain behind second-placed Sheffield United on goal difference alone and only two points away from league-leaders Norwich City meaning topping the table by Saturday evening is a real possibility.

And defender Leif Davis has been speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post about his hectic debut against Aston Villa back in December where he was reportedly told minutes before the game that he was starting.

Davis was brought into the Whites youth team from League Two Morecambe back in the summer and was called up to the first-team squad after impressing for the reserves.

Since the clash with Villa, the defender has gone on to make three more appearances, all from the bench, as he looks to help the club back into the Premier League.

But does the defender have a bright future at the club?

We discuss...

George Harbey

"I certainly think so.

"Bielsa has already shown this season that if you’re good enough, then you’re old enough.

"Davis should take great inspiration and motivation from Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton this season."

Gary Hutchinson

"Hard to tell at the moment, but the kid did well when called upon earlier in the season.

“If they go up it gets harder. Not even Bielsa would throw him to the wolves against the big boys.

“I can see a season-long loan on the cards, maybe back into the Championship.

“If he develops, who knows what will happen from there.”

Jacob Potter

"He's one to watch for the future.

"Davis looked impressive when he was called into the side against Aston Villa earlier this season and he definitely has a bright future ahead of him.

"He's one of a number of young Leeds players that are going to challenge for a first-team spot in the next few years."
