Millwall are in advanced talks with Gary Rowett over becoming the club's new manager, according to The Telegraph.

The 45-year-old was reportedly interviewed for a second time on Friday after chairman John Berylson flew to England to assist with the appointment, and Rowett has now emerged as the leading contender for the role.

Millwall's current caretaker boss was also understood to be considered for the role, but the 3-2 defeat to Brentford over the weekend has now convinced the club's board that a fresh face is needed at The Den.

Rowett has previous managerial experience at Burton Albion, Birmingham City and Derby County while his last role in management came at Stoke, where he was sacked after less than eight months in charge.

However, it is thought that talks between Millwall and Rowett are progressing well and he could now watch from the stands when the Lions welcome to Cardiff City to The Den on Tuesday evening.

Plenty of Millwall fans have taken to Twitter following this significant development in their search for a new manager, and many of them appear to be satisfied with the appointment of Rowett as Neil Harris' successor.

Here are some of their responses...
