Nottingham Forest were brought back down to earth last night following their win at league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers last week, as Aitor Karanka’s side were handed a 3-0 home defeat by play-off chasing Preston North End.

The Reds were completedly outclassed by their opponents from Lancashire, with goals from Billy Bodin, Tom Barkhuizen and Daniel Johnson handing Alex Neil’s side a comfortable win on the road.

Forest parted ways with former boss Mark Warburton earlier in the month following a string of inconsistent results, but new man Karanka has now won just one of his four games in charge.

Defeat rounds off a bad few days for the Reds, after they were dumped out of the FA Cup at Hull City having dispatched Premier League Arsenal in the previous round.
