Nottingham Forest are in fine form heading into the latest international break, with Sabri Lamouchi's side second in the Championship and unbeaten in 10 in the league.

With his side flying, it is no surprise therefore that Lamouchi is receiving admiring glances from the English first tier, according to a report in the print edition of The Sun (October 6, Page 63).

It is suggested that at least one Premier League side has been impressed by the 47-year-old Frenchman, though the Forest board will be reluctant to lose someone who has turned them into realistic promotion contenders this season.

So is it surprising that Premier League clubs are considering Lamouchi?

We discuss.........

Josh Cole

“When you consider just how big of an impact Lamouchi has had on Forest’s fortunes over the past two months, it is not at all surprising that he is being linked with a move to the Premier League.

“Although the Frenchman was unable to prevent the Reds from suffering defeat in his first game in charge of the club, he has since led them on a 10-game unbeaten run in the second tier.

“With Forest currently occupying second place in the Championship, Lamouchi will be determined to help the club launch a sustained push for promotion this season.

“Therefore, it would somewhat of a shock if the former Stade Rennais boss decides to leave the City Ground if he is approached by a top-flight club.”

Alfie Burns

“Honestly, I am a little bit surprised by this, despite Forest starting well and sitting second in the table.

“Results have been good, but Forest’s style has hardly been impressive and they’ve scraped a couple of the positive results.

“Then, when you consider Lamouchi has only had 11 games in English football’s second-tier, it is very premature to be talking about Premier League jobs.

“Things could crash and burn heading into Christmas for him – just ask Jose Gomes.”

George Harbey

“It really doesn’t surprise me to see Premier League clubs interested in Lamouchi when you consider how much of a good start Forest have made to the season.

“Lamouchi has shown in the early stages of his tenure at the City Ground that he is a tactical master, and he knows how to win games in various ways.

“He’s adapted to Championship football really well for an unknown manager, and the 47-year-old could be a revelation on Trentside.

“I can’t see him leaving Forest anytime soon, though. They are a club in the up who could well be playing in the top-flight next term.”
