West Bromwich Albion defender Semi Ajayi was named in FIFA 20's Ultimate Team, Team of the Season so far.

The 26-year-old was put alongside the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Kalvin Phillips, Ebere Eze and more in EA's latest update.

With the season finish yet to be in sight, FIFA have treated fans and players to a new set of EFL cards, which features players from League One and Two as well.

Reacting to the reveal, Ajayi posted this message on

/B_X7fubAOxf/">his Instagram:

He's been one of Slaven Bilic's best players this season. Joining from Rotherham United in the summer, the Nigerian has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the division, and one of the most prolific too.

Ajayi has proved an unlikely source of goals for West Brom this season having scored five in the Championship so far, including the opener against Leeds on New Year's Day (before scoring Leeds' equaliser as well).

Playing in all but two of his side's league games so far this season, Ajayi is fully deserved of his spot in FIFA's latest Ultimate Team update, and could yet go on to big things in football.

Premier League clubs could well swoop for Ajayi should West Brom miss out on promotion. They currently sit in 2nd with a point separating them from Leeds, with 27 points left to play for.

The verdict

Ajayi has become a huge favourite at The Hawthorns. He's all the hallmark qualities of a top centre-back and at 26, although he's no longer a 'young player', he still has plenty of good years ahead of him. Baggies fans can only hope that it's spent with them.
