Brentford picked up an impressive three points against Cardiff City this afternoon, with Sergi Canos the hero for Thomas Frank’s side as he grabbed a hat-trick.
The Spaniard has endured a mixed season individually, getting just one goal prior to the trip to Wales, with his form frustrating a section of the support.
However, he was back to his best today, equalising after Will Vaulks had given the Bluebirds the lead following a remarkable effort from his own half.
The 23-year-old was ruthless after the break as well, getting two goals in eight minutes to give Brentford a comfortable lead.
They would need that, as Vaulks pulled one back for the Welsh outfit, but the Londoners held on to move up to fourth in the Championship table.
As you would expect, Canos’ performance delighted the Brentford fans, and here we look at some of the comments from the support on Twitter…
To the Sergi Canos hate squad this is for you . This guy loves Brentford .

Sergi Canos obviously gets the headlines today and rightly so for his insane hat trick, but Vitaly Janelt may be one of our best ever signings and I’d even say he’s better than Norgaard defensively. Got us out of so many bad situations today, class act👏

Canos hatty 😱🤷♂️🐝. Big portion of humble pie for me 😬

The Canos thing is funny. Player returning from long-term injury plays himself into form by actually playing rather than sitting on the bench shock.

Absolutely buzzing for canos, cracking 3 points 👏👏

Fair play to Canos and Frank. Proving me wrong for sure. I criticised the unbeaten run for us trying to avoid losses rather than trying to win games. And I'm glad to see Sergi hitting form (Criticised him when he wasn't at his best, will praise him when he plays like that 🔥)
