Hull City are the form side in the Sky Bet Championship right now and welcome Sheffield Wednesday to the KCOM this weekend.

The Owls, meanwhile, find themselves in slightly better form, too, with the prospect of former Tigers boss Steve Bruce taking over at the start of next month.

The two face off in what should be a good game, then, and ahead of it, we caught up with Owls fan and Championship Pod man Louis Shackshaft to talk all things from a Wednesday viewpoint...

1. First of all, assess your Christmas period...

The festive period was surprisingly a good one, not only did we get confirmation of Steve Bruce’s arrival but we also managed to go five games unbeaten. We faced a couple of sides who sit firmly in the top-six and we gained a steady few points along the way. The only downside to our recent run of form is having to face a FA Cup reply against Luton after the initial 0-0 draw. Otherwise, no complaints from me in the past few weeks.

2. Steve Bruce has come in, what are your thoughts on that?

Realistically, Bruce was probably the best manager we could’ve recruited. He will come into this role with bags of experience and he knows the Championship inside out. I’m excited to see what the future will bring in our new era under Bruce. As long as Chansiri gives him time and they both devise a short to long-term plan, he could turn out to be a fantastic appointment.

3. Adam Reach is linked with a move away - can you see that happening?

If the right offer comes in and matches Wednesday’s asking price, then sure, I can see this happening. Having said that, Reach is one of our star players and has been for over 18-months now, I’d hate to see him leave as would most Owls fans. Wednesday have been renowned for not selling players under our current Chairman, but, if a £10-15 million bid is on the table, it may be difficult to turn down.

4. You face an in-form Hull side this weekend, how do you go about getting the result?

This is going to be a very tricky affair, Hull have currently won five in a row in the league, so our defence is key in this contest. If Wednesday can keep a clean sheet or restrict Hull to only one goal then the Owls have a great opportunity to win this tie. Also, If Wednesday can put a performance in like they have done of late then there is no reason why we can’t come away with at least a point.

5. Score prediction

I expect both sides to keep up their decent run of form and continue their unbeaten records in the league. 1-1
