Nigel Adkins is set to be handed a boost ahead of his side's match at home to West Brom this weekend, in a game where they will be looking to climb out of the relegation zone.

Both Reece Burke and Jordy de Wijs returned to training this week for The Tigers and their return to the side has given Adkins a potential selection headache ahead of their game against Darren Moore's side.

Hull are currently sat 23rd in the table and are two points adrift of Rotherham who are sat above the relegation places.

They earned a crucial win away to Bolton Wanderers last weekend with Fraizer Campbell first-half strike proving to be the difference between the two sides.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of their clash with the Baggies at the weekend, Adkins admitted that the return of the pair is a huge boost to his side.

'We trained really well,' Adkins revealed. 'It was bright. I said to the players how many are out on the training ground. We need that competition for places.

'We need that togetherness as well, which we’ve got. I’m really pleased that there are so many players available for this weekend.'

The Verdict:

The return of the key duo will be a boost to Nigel Adkins as they continue their fight against relegation this weekend.

Hull face a tough test if they are to build on their win last week as they face a West Brom side that will be looking to end their poor run of form.

Adkins will need to build on their win last weekend and if they don't then his future as manager will be thrown into doubt, with several fans already questioning his position as manager of the club.
