Hull manager Adkins issues transfer update on 23-goal striker

Hull City manager Nigel Adkins has said that the club have not bid for Peterborough United striker Jack Marriott.

Former Southampton boss Adkins has also stated that Marriott is not on the Tigers’ list of targets in the January window.

Marriott has been on fire so far this season for the Posh with 23 goals in 36 games across all competitions, but he will not be joining the Tigers in this window.

The most recent of those goals was a double which capped off an impressive performance as Peterborough embarrassed Aston Villa last weekend, dominating Steve Bruce’s men, beating them 3-1 and knocking them out of the FA Cup in the third round.

The Verdict

On current form, Marriott would definitely improve Hull and could add some real firepower to their bid to avoid being properly sucked into the Championship relegation battle.

If I was a Hull fan, I would be disappointed that my club were not throwing their hat in the ring for a quality player.
