Hull City defender Todd Kane has warned Sheffield United that the team will 'give everything' in today's Championship clash at the KCOM Stadium.

Kane scored twice at the Hawthorns on Good Friday as the Tigers were beaten 3-2 by West Brom, which all but ended their chances of making the play-offs.

Nigel Adkins' side are now tenth in the Championship table, seven points outside the top six, with just three matches remaining.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United moved back into second in the table, as promotion rivals Leeds United lost at home to Wigan Athletic.

The Blades are now ahead of the Whites on goal difference, but need a win against Hull this afternoon to take a big step towards the Premier League.

However, Kane has insisted that the Tigers will be up or the challenge and is confident that they can bounce back from Friday's disappointment with three points.

"It’s Sheffield United up next, who I think are a great side and fully deserve to be where they are in the table. It will be a tough test for us but we’re all looking forward to the challenge," Kane told the club's official website.

"They’re going to come out all guns blazing because it’s a must-win game for them as they look to secure automatic promotion.

"But, we want those three points as well. We’ll give it everything once again and hopefully, we can maintain our impressive run of form on home soil and get back to winning ways."

The Verdict:

Back-to-back defeats against Middlesbrough and West Brom have all but ended the Tigers' chances of making the play-offs, but they will still be looking to finish the season on a high, starting with today's game against the Blades.

It's a must-win game for Sheffield United this afternoon, as they need a win to keep the pressure on Leeds, who are in action in today's evening kick-off against Brentford.

Chris Wilder and his players have every reason to be confident of their chances of automatic promotion, but will also know that they cannot afford any more slip-ups at such a crucial stage of the campaign.
