According to a report in the Sun, Hull City are now set to rival Newcastle United for the signature of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

The big Chelsea striker was a revelation for Bristol City last season in the Sky Bet Championship, and now it appears Hull want to Abraham to replicate that form at the KCom Stadium next season, and will try and lure him out of Newcastle's clutches.

Abraham had looked all set to sign for the Toon if reports in the media are to be believed over the last few weeks, however Hull, now armed with an extra £17m following the sale of Harry Maguire, could look to tempt Abraham to Yorkshire and back into the Championship.

It is a bold move by the Tigers, who are looking to fire themselves straight back to the Premier League at the first attempt following relegation last time out.

Abraham is having to bide his time in terms of a chance for Chelsea, and will have a tough decision to make about either making the step up to the Premier League, or sitting in relative comfort down in the Championship for another season.
