Championship outfit Hull City are considering making a move for Motherwell midfielder Chris Cadden, reports The Scottish Sun.

The 20-year-old came up through the youth ranks at Fir Park before earning his senior debut for the Scottish Premiership side back in March 2014, when he came on as a late substitute in their 4-1 home win over Hearts.

And he has since gone from strength to strength with the Well, earning a further 75 first team appearances for the club, in which time he has scored 11 goals and laid on eight assists.

And the Scotland Under-21 international’s rise over the last few years has attracted interest from those south of the border, with recent reports suggesting that Leonid Slutsky’s Hull are considering a move for the midfielder.

The Tigers suffered relegation from the Premier League last season and as such much change has taken place at the KCOM Stadium over the summer, with manager Marco Silva leaving for Watford, and key first teamers such as Harry Maguire and Eldin Jakupovic following him to the top-flight.

So new boss Slutsky, embarking on his first job in English football, has been given quite the task in rebuilding the Hull squad for their Championship campaign, and clearly sees Cadden as someone who can help his side in their quest for an immediate return to the Premier League.

But whether they do indeed get a deal done for the 20-year-old midfield sensation very much remains to be seen.

The Verdict: Motherwell’s Chris Cadden has enjoyed an excellent few years at the Scottish Premiership outfit, and it appears that his rise has not gone unnoticed.

Not only did he receive his Scotland Under-21 debut last September, but the 20-year-old is now attracting interest from Championship side Hull City, and with four goals already this term, he’s not doing his chances of securing a move away much harm at all.

Leonid Slutsky saw his Hull side comfortably beaten by Wolves on Tuesday night to suggest that more is needed at the KCOM Stadium to compete with the best in the division, and the former CSKA Moscow and Russia coach may see Cadden as an ideal addition to his side.

Only time will tell though whether he and the Hull hierarchy can get a deal done for the 20-year-old though.
