Hull City are still keen on signing centre back Terell Thomas despite their transfer embargo, a report from The Hull Daily Mail has revealed.

It was reported earlier this month that the Tigers are keen on a deal for Thomas, who is currently a free agent after leaving AFC Wimbledon following the expiry of his contract at the end of last season.

That had seemingly been complicated somewhat by the fact that Hull are subject to some restrictions from the EFL due to a loan agreement between the two parties, which limits the Tigers' squad to 25 players.

But despite that, it seems Hull are still keen to secure the services of Thomas, as they prepare for their return to the Championship following their promotion from League One at the end of last season.

According to this latest report, Hull manager Grant McCann is still keen to sign three more players this summer, and Thomas is said to be one of his targets.

It is thought that Mccann is hopeful of getting those players in before the club's final pre-season friendly against Sunderland on Friday.

So far this summer, Hull have completed five senior signings, with Andy Cannon, Randell Williams, George Moncur and loanees Nathan Baxter and Ryan Longman all joining the club.

The Verdict

You can understand why Hull might still be keen on this deal for Thomas.

The centre back could be a useful asset for them next season, given the promise he has shown throughout his career so far.

Indeed, Hull are rather short on options in the centre of their defence just now, so so it certainly makes sense for them to look to add in that position this summer.

With the season also fast approaching, it is important these players are brought in quickly to allow them to settle in and adjust to their surroundings, before the competitive action gets underway.
