In his first interview since signing for Hull on loan, Fikayo Tomori has told the club’s official website that he is hoping to bring the confidence he gained from winning the u20's World Cup with England to the Hull squad.

The 19-year-old was a deadline day signing for the Tigers as he joined from the current Premier League champions, Chelsea.

Speaking to Hull’s website, the youngster said:

"The summer with the England under-20s was probably the best time of my career so far.

"The World Cup was a great experience for me and we managed to do something that no England team has done since 1966 - it's something crazy really and I'm really proud to have been a part of that.

"I'm trying to bring all of the confidence gained from the summer into the new season. It's been a summer that I will never forget and I can only take confidence from it. Hopefully, I can use those experiences to help us this season."

Tomori has previously had a loan spell at Brighton and Hove Albion where he made ten appearances.

The Verdict

If there was anything to bring confidence to a young player, it would be winning the World Cup.

Chelsea youngsters always seem to have something special about them and if Tomori can bring that experience and confidence he gained over the summer to the KCOM, then Hull could have a very special talent in their ranks for the season ahead.
